
Project Nordporten is one of the Umeå Municipality Group's major construction projects and aims to rebuild and expand the Port of Umeå for tomorrow's logistics needs.
The project is ongoing and is expected to be completed in 2030.
The Nordporten project is a comprehensive construction project that aims to rebuild and expand the entire inner harbor in the Port of Umeå. The Nordporten project includes the North Quay, the construction of a new energy pier, a new fire water building, the expansion of the South Quay and the Pirkajen, shore power and dredging. The construction period extends until 2030.
Regular operations in the port will continue as before throughout the project implementation. It is therefore important that developers and contractors coordinate the projects with Kvarken Ports Umeå, which is responsible for the operations in the Port of Umeå.
The entire area of operations is covered by ISPS.

The Nordporten project is divided into several sub-projects to ensure that daily operations in the port continue as smoothly as possible. The North Queay subproject is ongoing and is being project-managed by INAB on behalf of Umeå Hamn AB, and the Energy pier sub-project is ongoing and is being project-managed by Umeå Hamn AB.

GRK Sverige AB is the main contractor for the Energy pier subproject.

On behalf of Umeå Hamn AB, the municipal company INAB manages several projects in the Port of Umeå.

Kvarken Ports Umeå is the port operator in the Port of Umeå and the party setting the requirements for Umeå Hamn AB. Kvarken Ports is an important partner in the project.
