Port of Umeå

The port of Umeå is one of the largest ports in northern Scandinavia with an annual freight handling of currently about 2.5 million tonnes. Half of the products that pass the port come from the forest such as kraftliner, wood products and more. The port is strategically located on the naturally shortest road between Sweden and Finland across the northern Bothnian Sea and is a year-round port.

Since 1 January 2020, Umeå Hamn AB is a subsidiary of UKF-Umeå Kommunföretag AB. The company's operations and assignments changed in connection with the formation of Umeå and Vasa's new port company, Kvarken Ports AB, in 2015, which means that Umeå Hamn AB owns and manages the facilities, but the operation of the port operations has been transferred to Kvarken Ports AB.
